To think that i still have time to write in this blog is unbelievable.


عن أبي سعيد الخدري رضي الله عنه: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول:

من رأى منكم منكرا فليغيره بيده, فان لم يستطيع فبلسانه, فان لم يستطيع فبقلبه, وذلك أضعف الايمان

رواه مسلم

On the authority of Abd Said Al Khudry(may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah(may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) say:

"Whosoever of you sees an evil action, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not able to do so, then with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart-and that is the WEAKEST OF FAITH."

I memorized this hadith when i was in my form 4, or was it in my last year in high school? My teacher who was teaching Pendidikan Al-quran & As Sunnah at that time deliberately told my classmates and I to memorize it complete with sanad & matan and the meaning as well and we have to tasmik to him. Seriously, if we don't, or slack off, or saje lmbt2 gi tasmik, we will get rotan! Usually, the boys always get rotan XD, serve them right. But i'm grateful to him for sorting off forcing us to memorize all the hadis that we took in the subject.

Ok, regarding the hadis, it always happen to us doesn't it? When people especially those close to us, do something that we know is wrong depan2 mata kita, we just tend to slack off and say , " Takpe, at least benci dlm hati & tak redha apa yg dorg buat. Kan selemah-lemah iman." And by doing that, you believe that you have done what you could.

It's dangerous to always think that it's fine to just feel "benci dlm hati & tak redha apa yg dorg buat". Do you want to always like the malay proverb says it "Masih tangguk yg lama."?

You have to make the EFFORT to try to at least say to them, explain to them, what they are doing is wrong. Most importantly, we have to make them UNDERSTAND why it's wrong. Really, usually, it's not that they don't know that what they are doing is wrong. Every muslimah knows that they have to cover their hair& head and everything. They know that, ok. They just couldn't understand why they should. Seriously, by just saying it's because Allah said so, or saying that only their husbands deserve the right to see 'em are not enough. You have to be creative and find solid facts to explain to them. And sometimes your facts have to be just specific to that individual. A solid explaination that sometimes only fits that individual but you can't use the same explaination to another person. Yeah, it's quite hard. You have to do lots of reading and everything. It can take years, but along the way, you'll get pahala.

Ok, i'm straying off topic. My point is, it's dangerous to just stay at the level of "benci dlm hati & tak redha" because it's the weakest of faith as said in the hadis. Weakest of faith can fall into a dead faith you know what i mean? So, to be safe, try to stay at the level of " mencegah dgn lisan".

"Lidah itu lebih tajam dari pedang."

It can hurt somebody's heart. The truth is sometimes painful.

That's why only people who are strong spiritually have the strength to tegur people when they are wrong. But speak intelligently(berhikmah). If you can't, then, it's better to just keep silent. But, try to think about what to say next time you are faced with the same thing again, the next time you saw people do the same wrong things.

Yeah, another thing, one of my friends asked me how to tegur her friends. She said it is very frustrating for her to keep on seeing her friends do wrong things which they think is not wrong at all. But what strucked me was, she said,

"Rasa geram je nanti bila kt akhirat bila Allah tayang balik hidup kita kat dunia ni depan semua org. Pastu, tunjuk kita tak buat apa2 pon masa dorang buat salah tu. Kita duduk je diam2, tak buat apa2 pon. Eii, bukan org lain je rasa geram tgk, kita sendiri pon akan rasa geram dgn diri sendiri."

I never thought of it that way, seriously, huhu~
